Decatur – Alene Spinner 88 of Decatur passed away at 6:44 p.m. Saturday May 7, 2011 in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur, IL.
A celebration of Alene’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 13, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. Friday till service time. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com.
Alene was born May 5, 1923 in Clinton, IL the daughter of Wesley Marvin and Alberta (Kirby) Fletcher. She married Ernest E. Spinner on December 20, 1941. He preceded her in death on July 22, 2001.
Surviving are her sons: Gary Spinner and his wife Sharon of Mt. Zion, and Jerry Spinner and his wife Joanne of Land of Lakes, WI; sister: Irene Schubach of Madisonville, KY; sisters-in-law: Mae Fletcher of Moberly, MO and Lucile Heinkel of Decatur; grandchildren: Jeff Spinner, Kim Carlson and her husband Jim, Jim Spinner and his wife Jessica, and Jon Spinner; three great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one brother and one sister.
